So finally,i’ve found an alternative career. I think I shall become an astronaut.I think ,after many years (feels like a century already) of “reverse software engineering ” in small overcrowded cubicles in software firms ,i definitely have the capacity to take a trip to Mars.
For, it seems that

Space chiefs planning a trip to Mars want to lock a group of volunteers away for 500 days to see what prolonged boredom does to us.And now 12 volunteers will be locked in an isolation tank for 17 months to simulate a trip to Mars for the European Space Agency” ,
according to this report by the BBC.A trip to Mars is supposed to be boring ?Maybe.
Quoting the BBC,
The aim is to gain insight into human behaviour and group dynamics under the kinds of conditions astronauts would experience – “crowding, lack of privacy, high workload, mechanical breakdowns, boredom with available food, and limited communication with mission control, family and friends,” the agency says in its job advert .I think I am most eligible for this.Have I finally found my calling ?
Crowding – Check.Five people and six workstations in a four seater cubicle.
Lack of privacy – Check.The above clearly shows lack of privacy.
High workload - Of course,of course. The times that work is there ,its always been a real high for me.
Mechanical breakdowns - Check.
Boredom with available food – The same old canteen.The same old tomato bath.The same old North Indian or South Indian meals.Day by day. By day..by day.
Limited communication with mission control – Check.The Mottai Boss [Imagine Shrek with a moustache] used to sit in an isolated cubicle with a great view to the parking lot.He always roamed around with a frown on his face [ Seriously,was he born that way or what,we used to wonder?].So,never communicated with him directly.
Limited communication with family and friends – Check. No access to Orkut,yahoomail,hotmail,gmail,youtube,gaming sites.No outgoing calls from office.Yeah.Been there done that.
Why are they even looking for astronauts ? They should be looking for IT pros.
Does anyone remember Paarthaaley Paravasam title song ? Today,I happened to hear it .Was downloading Azhagey Sugama and heard this one just by chance. One of ARR’s lesser appreciated songs,but something about is truly catchy,to me.

Yea,Yea the Potter Mania has got to me too.. 21st July and I wish I could have my hands on the next and final in the Potter series.But,it costs a whooping 18 euros if you order the book online (converted ,it reads as around 1100 INR!! whew,so much for a book ? Could I ever forgive myself if I do this ?).So,for now its on my wishlist.
Read all of the series and forgotten almost everything about it as well.But,it was good while it lasted.I mean,while I read it,i really enjoyed it. Most people seem to think Harry Potter is for kids ,but actually,it makes up for quite an interesting read even for us adults.A little bit of humor here and there,and a generally interesting plot (almost always ,its the person you least suspect who turns out to be the culprit,and reveals more of Harry’s past).
And,for those who didnt know (I didnt ,till quite recently) , there are actually two editions of the next book “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” ,one normal one and the other is an Adult edition ..Hmm..double the profit for Rowling.
I wish i knew some spell to reduce the price of the book.Reducius !!

Effect of Repetitive Stress Injury (elaborate-aa sonnaa,effect of having tried too hard to sight-adichufy blonde babes in office n resulting neck sprain) and effect of having watched Sivaji movie (sitting in first row) on my friend was very clear when i chatted with him on Yahoo.
